stupski 0 Posted January 20, 2007 Birte's right. This is a stunning photo - full of tension and action. In addition, you managed to pull this off with a rather cloudy sky. Would be interested to see what this look like without the crop at the hind quarters, but assumed you cropped to get close in for the web. Good work! namurray 0 Posted January 20, 2007 Thanks D.L. This is my own favourite jumps shot. Yes, it was shot at a wider angle. I left the height as is but cropped in horizontally from both sides. The primary reason being Melbourne's tall buildings in the background which detracted from the image. You can see the start of them, left above the horses rump, and right, next to its head. At that jump and that angle you just can't get away from buildings in the background. The MarkIIN did a beautiful job on the exposure. I set the aperture without any compensation, just focussed on the grey horse and only had to adjust the bbrightness a whisker when converting RAW to jpg. Thanks again.
