Pelé. Maradonna. Beckenbauer.

The mere whisper of these names tugs at the heart of classic football history: the sudden thrill of last-minute heroics, the awesome roar of thousands not seen since the glory days of Rome's Colosseum, the drama and despair of victory and defeat. No other tournament grabs hold and captivates the heart and soul of entire nations as the World Cup ... it is unique in the annals of professional sport. Indeed, every fan holds dear that "special moment"; every fan has their "Pelé".

And yet, nothing can match that incredible moment of 2006, when a virtual unknown took the world by storm and scored the Cup-winning goal with but a flip of a wheel, a tap of a hat ... the one, the only ... ShadowMan.

Gotta love it! Just fantastic, David. That ShadowMan has one vivid imagination. That guy sticking his hand out must be Maradona.

England is out:( So, I say good luck to both teams. Let's hope for a 2-1 or 3-2 win in overtime, with some early scores.

Another great addition.

The Shadow is just at the right place, at the right moment. He deserves the World Cup David (or his adventure already is.) How sweet to be right in the middle "heat of attention". Warm regards, Tanya.

Another great shot... What's he made of... is there no limits? I wish I was there to see this one, the energy is high. I can't wait to see where he turns up next. Thanks David

Go France! The World Cup isn't huge in the USA, but I have been watching! Nice work. Cheers!

The curious little fellow is at it again! Always a pleasure to see! Your imagination knows no bounds. An incredibly gifted photographer (such thoughtful and meaningful portraiture, beautiful landscapes, and much more - I love your "critters", and "wee beasties"!) AND the wonderful imagination and creativity behind ShadowMan. I tip my (top)hat to such refreshing depth in photography, David. Please keep it up - it is clearly your calling. Respectfully, T.

The only problem I can say, is that the shadows are a little blurred and this hurts the eye a little. if they were sharper, it would be better.

Again, I am so grateful for your continued support of ShadowMan. I appreciate the time each and every one of you takes to view and comment on this strange traveller. It is fun to create, and just as much fun to find out people's reactions to his travels. Thank you all so much. -David
