Why the low rating?

Melissa, I cannot answer why the low ratings but I can tell B/W photos are just about always better. I viewed your portfolio and think you have done wonderful. I think we have somewhat of the same eyes for capturing moments in time. This is a classic photo. Maybe it was just the fly away hair.(just kidding) Thanks for the kind words on my post.

Although the B/W version is good, I like the colour version. Did you try the "Lightness Channel" method for converting to B/W?

Hi, I love that it is B & W, you could do a focal B&W where just one area is in color (look at my portfolio to see one titled "Lunch" and judge for yourself) but the black and white tones illuminate the skin...good job!

I prefer B&W for people portraits but for infants both B&W and colour each have their own unique appeal. I chose this B&W one to comment on because I have a similar one to show. OK, not under 3 months but if we're into showing cute butts I offer this one for your consideration. Would make a cute W\NW thread don't you think? Best in the new year, LM.
