irina_no 0 Posted July 10, 2006 I have been having hard time decoding your latest post. I could understand it only after replacing every "english" word for corresponding "russian" one. Anyway, thank you for your time, and keep visiting my page. Link to comment
longtang_lin 0 Posted July 17, 2006 IRINA : This is a powerful composition, and good expression.. potential a mastrepiece.. but too bad the focus is soft.. this photo is shot under darness and I bet you struggle with long exposure time.. Because I shoot a lot of photo like this and I am struggling too.. The possible cure is to use high price lense with Apeature wide open and image stability funstion.. expensive stuff for sure... I wish someday I could own one.. another less expensive alretnative is to use CANON 50mm prime lense f1.8.. open the apature WIDE. and use iso 200 might earn you a fair chance.. using a spot meter mode might help.. keep trying more of this.. with luck ,I beleive you will get a wonderful one.. Sometimes, I play a trick by suddenly shouting to model ,, when she is in shock and freeze that will give me 1/2 second of precious moment to press shutter.. the photo will be sharp with good expression too.. Well hopefully model does not get mad.. you can always apologize and make up for her.. good luck.. :-) Bye the way,, do not tell your model that I taught this.. :-) LONGTANG JOHN LIN Link to comment
irina_no 0 Posted July 17, 2006 Longtang Lin, thank u for your comment) Let me explain my situation: for the portraits i use Nikkor 1.4 50mm lense. And i`ve taken this portrait with the following parameters: Exposure time 1/100, FNumber 1.8, Metering Mode: Spot. Focus is on her eye. And u didn`t guess with the light conditions: light was quite bright. Darkness u see on this pic - is result of PhotoShop manipulations)) Thanks, that you have shared the original way of photographing of models))) Maybe somewhere i will use it! ))) Link to comment
Todd Kowalski 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Irena, this is a very micely composed photograph. I like how the model's face is framed by black, yet it is not centered. Very good job. I am happy to have found your work! Regards, Todd Link to comment
