The Stone Bridge stood as a landmark in my hometown for over a hundred

years, until it collapsed in 1969. It was a wonderful place to walk

with your girl on a moonlit summer night, except for one major

problem. The county jail was right by it, and the inmates would yell

out their cell windows, critiquing your girl, and suggesting in some

detail the activities you should pursue. I recall thinking that

capital punishment should be inflicted on those dream killers.

Doug thanks for the insight on this picture. It always makes it a little more interesting when a poster shares a little of the backround. Did your adventures there have anything to do with your career choice?

The Old Stone Bridge is really a neat photo of a memory. As we all know, where would we be without our memories. I loved your story about such a neat place and it is good they tried to preserve what they could of it. The older I get, the more I appreciate those memories and I see it with my mother even more so every day. She is 96 yrs old in the nursing home and some days she really tells me about some crazy and exciting happenings, and just to think if I live that long that I will have my own to share. PS. When you travel with Sam, I guarantee there are some really memorable funny ones, lol.

Doug, thanks so much for all your kind and helpful words on my photos. Even though we take our photos for our own eyes, it does feel good that we reach someone else in our conveyance of what we see. I have found all my life it is so much better to give someone a pat on the back rather than a kick in the back side and if you can't do that, then just don't say anything at all. Thanks again for all your help and kind words.

Janie, thank you. This is one of those markers, for me, that said "this is where you are in the world". Ironically perhaps, I left the day after I graduated from high school. I'm only now wanting to retrace those steps.

As for your work, you have the eye to see and the heart to care. What else is there, except a few technical details to capture what you see and feel?
