Model 'M' in black

This was again from her first shoot. Aside from the colour conversion,this image was unmanipulated. Please give constructive criticism andfeedback...

She's absolutely gorgeous, but the bg is too sharp, and detracts from the shot. Her left hand position is a little awkward too. But what a beautiful subject.

About the BG, she was about two feet away from it so there was very little I could do. I'm not even sure a f/1.0 setting would've thrown that off focus. My humble lens can only manage f/4.5 at the long end (105mm) which is the focal length I took this at ;)

The foreground wasn't very flattering to be honest, and I'd have liked a more blurred BG, but I was constrained by architecture! :) So I made her stand on that ledge. Ok it was more like 'balancing' on the ledge in those heels just long enough for me to take the shot ;)

It's true that the background is a bit obtrusive but it's so graphic it actually adds to the shot, contrasting its rough texture with the softness of the skin and dress. She is carrying herself in a very dignified way. I agree that her hand seems a bit akward - she should have let it hang on the side, whih would have looked really nice against the black of her dress. I likthe soft toning you've added to it all. As I say all the time, Less Is More!
