jerrymat 5 Posted July 5, 2006 PIctures of children are always nice to see. I think, perhaps, that this was too closely cropped. There is no reason to lose the head of the little girl Link to comment
skersell33 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Thanks for the feedback. I wish I could crop this differently. At the time I took this, I was going for a picture us just my son. My daughter walked up behind him, so instead of telling her to move, I framed her into the shot the best I could just to get it (using my NIKKOR 60mm MACRO)! :-) Link to comment
ester 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Hiya Sherry, Firstly i wanted to thank you so much for your helpful insights into my photos, I cant tell you how much i value your very insightful inputs. Secondly, I think you take wonderful photos, they have an artistic flare which sets them apart. They have a real moody quality which i really like. I hope to see more in the future. I think all of us moms should band together and share helpful hints, seriously, who knows maybe one day, we'll dominate the TRP page, lol. ok, thanks again sherry, ester bevers Link to comment
skersell33 0 Posted July 6, 2006 Thank you for the kind words and comments on my photography. I was beginning to question my style and ability because of personal critics (not on this site) commenting on my techniques and over-use of fill flash. I do agree that I need to learn how to control it more to give my photos a more natural look, but I've started to do some professional work and had to remind myself that my clients hire me because they like what they see!!! I love all the mommy's and daddy's on this site that take great joy in photographing their children. Each time I find one, I add them to my "interesting" list. Your work is fun and creative too! As I'm sure you know, it's hard to pay attention to the technical part of photography when we're shooting kids in action, isn't it? Keep up the good work! Link to comment
skersell33 0 Posted August 16, 2006 thanks for you comments on this photo! I too appreciated the crop and composition of this photograph. It's hard for some to get beyond the overuse of Fill Flash in this photograph to appreciate the other aspects. When i took this picture, I was down on my knees because I wanted to get the storm clouds in the sky. My son was on the ground playing with cars. When I asked him to look up at me and smile, my daughter unknowingly walked into the picture! I loved the way it turned out. Thanks again. Best regards. Link to comment
