This folder contains some photos shotted the day of the Patron of my city.

The game is: the gray people are the people of Trento, and they have do defend the city from the conquerors of another city, Feltre (the yellow-red people).

Here the city is represented from the "polenta" (pudding of maize) that is cooking in the center of the defensive line.

In the middle there are some other spectacles, like the fire's games.

Please, see the other photos too, and comment! Thanks!

Tutte a 800 o 1600 ISO. Ciao e grazie!

Very interesting festival. I think I like this photo the best. How does the pudding taste? Do the defenders of Trento always win? This looks like an enjoyable event to me. Regards, ~Sky

Thank You, Sky for your nice comments! I can't explain the "polenta" taste. We like it very much: with stew, with melted cheese, with sugar and butter, with milk and sugar... in a million of manner! It is from centuries the tipical popular food of the mountain's people. Especially before Colombo. Before the potatoes!

A post correction: the maize becomes from America too!

This year the winners of the game was the conquerors from Feltre (the red-yellow men) - http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4622000

Here You can find some explanations!

So this is a relatively new festival based on old traditions and events. Thanks for the link and now my curiosity has grown. I need to pull up some maps and study some of this history. Thanks for taking time to explain some of it for me. We have a food that sounds like it might be a bit simular called, "Grits". I don't know if it is even close but it the food I thought of when I read your information about it. We just eat it for breakfast. I will wonder about the taste for a while now.

Thanks again and take care, ~Sky
