dear Vrindavan,i agree with you taking fireworks is really a hassle.

this was my first attempt too but i have been interested in night photography for a while and i think that helped.

 

 

this was taken with a tripod,cable release and no flash.

the aperture was f/8 @ 10 sec with 200 ISO,focal lenght @ 35 mm.

This beautiful fireworks has litted up the dark sky & the city below. Well captured. I have not tried fireworks myself but know that it's not easy, esp to get the correct exposure for the fireworks & the foreground itself. Very good for 1st attempt, Friend.
