She's precious, Howard! I love the little yawn. She probably pushed herself hard to stay awake for a long time. I also like the little bit of hair sticking up in back. What a cutie!

This is a surprisingly interesting image, I find. At first glance, well, it's just a kid yawning -- though technically it's sharp and well exposed (the eyes are great), it doesn't seem too interesting. But because her expression is both iconic and perfectly captured, after viewing it longer, I find it grows on me as a presentation of a universal aspect of childhood. This is one of the main aims of photography, to me -- to express the timeless and universal through a capture of the concrete and particular.

I agree with Chris. it's a charming picture, yet with so much personality to it.

It's the little things that add tenderness....the wisp of unruly hair on her head. Just precious!
