eliza_nardone 0 Posted June 28, 2006 I think your composition would benefit with a more defined subject. If your subject is the entire team then it would be nice to see all the horses and the drivers in the same light. In this photo the light is highlighting the team leaders but the rest are shadow so the leaders become your de facto subject. For this instance I would have considered a vertical shot of only the first two horses, either a closeup of their heads and necks or a wider angle that shows their entire legs. When you are shooting horses it is generally a good rule of thumb to show all or none of the legs. Partial legs look cut-off and are distracting. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted September 26, 2006 I enjoyed "loping" through your Rodeo folder, lots of action there. I really like the lighting you captured on the lead horses heads, the color yellow contrasts nicely with their rich bay color. But I do have to agree with Eliza about showing all of the horses bodies and legs. Were you limited by the reach of your lens? This is an exciting and dangerous sport. Link to comment
