I swear I didn't mean it! It's funny how these things happen. A while ago, a friend sent me

this series of images. I thought "wouldn't it be funny if..." and a few minutes in Photoshop

and their you have it. I sent it back to him as a joke. Apparently, he sent it to someone, then

that person sent it to someone, etc. Well, it's now official, I've made it into Snopes.com.

They've debunked the image as fake! Yes, it is fake, it's not even a good job, it was just a

joke... I feel proud and dirty! Let me know if you saw this image in your email(s). By the way,

Snopes.com is a great place to check the validity of questionable emails.

I remember this. Not only are you famous but I'm gullible. I totally fell for it. You got me one this one Paul.

Kent: Apparently, you weren't the only one? I'm not certain how many times this thing got around after I doctored it. I figure if Snopes.com picked it up, yikes! This may very well be the single most viewed image I didn't shoot? I guess not everyone looks at these images as closely as I do. A friend who worked in the stock photo business used to have me look at images to see if they were doctored copies of their work. Busted a couple of people. One would figure if they flop the wing, they might want to correct the shadows? Fun stuff, like playing detective. Wow, what if this hoax is the greatest thing I ever do in my life? Okay, now I'm depressed...

Hey, at least you?re famous for something. Isn?t that the Warhol thing to achieve? I?m afraid I?ve seen too many of your images to naively believe it will be the greatest.

So you are actually THE ONE... believe it or not, I remember this series. I am from South Africa, and got this in the mail as well (few years ago?). It was even before I started taking photographs. Back then my first instinct was to search for clues showing it as being doctored. Only afterwards when I started taking photos, I realised that I have a preference for the "honest picture".

Strange how these things work. I came about your portfolio through a series of accidental hits and links, and today I am glad that I did. I appreciate the information you share with us in you bio, and I scanned through the first set of images in your portfolio. I'll have to come back when I have time, to view and ponder and just enjoy. But for now it's back to the real world (which is making even less sense by the hour).

My apologies for the long comment, and not even commenting on the image on display, I suppose I should have rather posted this under comments of your portfolio.

I will be back to look some more, see some more, and learn a lot. Thank you. JH

No aplogies, JH. Say what you like, where you like. Please feel free to come back and explore the rest of the work. I will do the same, as I usually do. With regrad to the photo above, I stress it was not my intent for it to go back out into the internet, it was supposed to be between friends. Oooops. I look forward to chatting some more in the future.

LOL! That's super cool! I remember how me and my work mates get that email with those pics and get amused by them. Well, I'm proud to met here the creator of those images. And very good work Paul, they looks so real! Greetings! Alin

Hi Alin: Really, I didn't mean to mislead people, I was just trying to be funny. It's funny how in this technological age, rumors can spread. I didn't even try to be precise in the alteration because the original I had was only a small 72 DPI image. But somehow, it made the rounds. I'm glad it brough some humor to people. Thanks!

I think you did a great job. You could swear that it was some real photos. And you are true, this kind of "interesting-funny-things", spread faster than a virus (but without the destructive effect). I'm currious what other funny things like that you did... Best regards! Alin
