alones 2 Posted June 15, 2006 Beautiful portrait well composed . The color of their beautiful eyes merge perfectly with the background . Great work Link to comment
Phil_Light 795 Posted June 15, 2006 Wonderful light! Completely different feeling portrayed by each of your subjects. The young lady on the right is very self-assurred and gazes into the distance contentedly. The young lady on the left is less sure of the situation and seems somewhat hesitant about the entire proceeding. But really beautiful light on the two of them. I bet it is a beautiful broad northern light with a distinctive pale green background. The Italians would call this color Celeste like the color they use on their top-of-the-line Bianchi bicycles. A really super complementary color for these two young ladies. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted June 15, 2006 You get the feeling something 'not so good' has happened to these girls. The one on the left is having trouble accepting it and the one on the right accepts it but it is not happy with it. Every picture tells a story! I appreciate my words may be complete nonsense. However, that is what the image conveys to me. Rather good to say the least! Link to comment
tanya_gramatikova 0 Posted June 15, 2006 Thanks...the little girl(only6) was a bit jealous about my attention to the older one(11)...and it helped a lot for the mood in the photo Link to comment
beamoflight 0 Posted June 15, 2006 Hi Tanya, Quite a diversion from the rest of your portfolio, but I like it. It's a very honest and frank portrait, contrary to the more polished other ones in your portfolio. Just one very minor point of critique though: I think the photo might have been even stronger if the left girl would have looked straight into the camera. Maybe it's the reflection in her eyes, but I somehow have the feeling she's distracted by something happening behind you... and hence looks slightly past you and the camera... Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted June 15, 2006 Colours, lighting, mood-all excellent. I love the lack of smiles and particually the eyes/shirt/wall colour idea. The crop is superb too. All in all a fine piece of work. Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted June 16, 2006 Wonderfully terrific :) The hair on the shoulder leads me to the interesting expression on the right. Wow... what eyes :) I love it! Link to comment
terri1 1 Posted June 17, 2006 What a great portrait! The beauty of the older girl, the sad expression of the younger, and the way the background color sets off the color of the eyes is just beautiful. The 'soft' look of the skin & skin tones really adds to the feeling of innocence and childhood. Link to comment
timberwulf 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Incredible expressions. They say that the eyes are the window into the soul, and you have managed to capture that in such a beautiful way in this image. Everything from the composition, the detail, to the colors and the lighting are wonderful in this shot. Excellent work. Link to comment
geof finch 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Simply Beautiful ! Nice even skin colours, good facial expressions, I love the contrasting personalities between one girl 'interested' (looking straight at the lens) and the other 'disinterested.' I like also the closeness of the two with their pose which brings their relationship together. Great detail as well and nice sharp image. Geof Link to comment
konstantinos_athanasiadis1664881385 0 Posted January 25, 2008 I believe that the cyan and the girl's red hair give a perfect contrast by them self. Furthermore I think the smooth skin of the young girls couldn't have been better cached, the tone is just right. I guess the lightning was perfectly set up, if there was any used. Love it. jim_stunkel 0 Posted March 11, 2009 It always amazes me how a portrait with two or more people looking in different directions really opens up and becomes so much more 3-dimensional. Well done. Link to comment
