Good work Howard. The environment makes this picture. Nice tones. Only minor is the central position of the man. Somehow it seems not perfect.

nice study Howard, he is peculiar in a way. He doesn't pose for a picture, he rather seems to be waiting, leaning at the wall rather like a boy than a white-haired man.

Hi Howard, I like it a lot, the environment is excellent, and I think he is NOT at rest, his pose, his left hand in his pocket and it looks like the right hand is holding something....... he is busy doing something, for sure he is observing something or someone, but he hide against his sunglasses

The man was just there like he was part of the stone work. I watched him for about 20 minutes before making the shot. He never moved. I believe he was day dreaming, off to some other place. As for his placement, I saw him as part of the vertical and horizontal lines of the concrete. Maybe his placement is wrong from a compositional point of view, I'm not sure? HJD

I do believe he's pondering life. I like it, Howard. Placement of the man works for me.

what is nice Howard and makes a good composition is the stright lines of wall and stairs and the round lines of the human figure. nice color range hues in the B/W.
