David,

I love this image. It's colours, tones, and subject matter make me think of more wonderful, simpler times. Beautifully done, David. Always a pleasure to see new and creative things from up your sleeve! Regards and respect, Tina

Texture, lighting and tones are incredible in this one. Subject matter is quite unusual, but eye-catching, nonetheless.

Very well done. Great light, interesting composition. I also like the shadows, they fill an empty spot, adding more interest.

...Wow, i really like the textures, composition and light in this photo David. The sharp blade really brings out the energy of this otherwise soft image. May i ask if you have to use flash for this photo?. Warm regards, Tanya.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I like to think there is a little bit of "past glory" in all of us, wishing for the "good old days". Sometimes it seems lost, doesn't it? That we'll never get those days back. Of course, looking ahead is always a good thing ... David :)

Thank you for your comments. These skates are hung on a wall in the foyer of my home. I purchased them at an antique store some time ago. I've always wanted to photograph them but I just never got around to it. Last week I came down in the morning and the sun was coming in just beautifully through the stained glass in my front door. I grabbed my camera and simply framed the shot I wanted. The soft light of the window was just perfect, no need for flash or any other light. In fact, I didn't even adjust the position of the skates, it was one of those instances where the image just jumped out at me and said "Now." Sometimes you get lucky! -David

...your "lucky" shot ;0). Your cropping always adds dimensions and drama to your photo which makes a photo unforgetable (to me :0)). Warm regards,

Tanya.
