Very original portrait, I like the composition, and skin tones, and the soft feel. The soft feel might be a tad to much... I feel like my eyes are trying to focus and they can't. What did you use to achieve the soft feel?

Jim, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. The one thing that drives me nutz about this site is those who feel a photo is "Below Average" NEVER comment. How can someone learn? UGGG! Anyway... venting.

I use a Photoshop pluggin called "Dream Suite" made by Auto FX. It's a really nice effect I think in that it doesn't change the sharpness of the photo as with Gausian blur. It simply dos some ghosting. The ghosted image is blurred I think. If you look at any particular spot on th ephoto you can tell it's in focus. It's really interesting to me.

Any way, I know ahead of time that MOST people here don't seem to enjoy th eeffect as it always garners an immediate 3/3 rating without explination. Oh well. I thank YOU for taking the tie to comment.

Very pretty smile and a relaxed genuine expression. The softening effect is too much for me. I would suggest lowering its amount and maybe applying it selectively only to the areas you would expect to be soft. I also think you need more light in the eyes. The white parts of the eyes look too dark to me. Beautiful model.

I agree with the softening effect being too much. You might also try the diffuse glow filter in PS as an alteritive to gausian blur. Another alternitive is to use a soft focus filter on your camera. That would give you the best effect (IMO) but does limit you as you will have no sharp copy of the photo should you wish to try anything else in post production. So I would shoot it with and without the filter.

Hi Joe,

Beautiful model, and the pretty smile is happening, but I think you

went a bit over the top with the soft filter. For my taste that is....;-)

Anyway, I think I recognise my own search for perfect skin

photoshop techniques and I learned a lot by visiting these

websites;

Hope it inspires you like it did me!

All the best, Ruud
