Pittsburgh is known as the "City of Bridges" and here is one of the over 435 city, county, and state bridges, the Fort Duquense Bridge, or what was known as "The Bridge To Nowhere" because of troubles finding a place to land its northern ramps.

The structure was built in 1963 but the bridge was not open for traffic until 1969 due to delays in construction which left the northern end of the span hanging in midair for many years until approach ramps were built.
