Storm's Coming ...

let me know your techniques on B/W conversion..

Great angle and image, the image seems a little flat, maybe burning in the clouds would provide a more ominous feeling of a storm approaching.

Your b&w conversions appeal to me very much...They convey the mood very nicely, not an easy thing to achieve.

 

You asked about my technique at one of my photos, well, they're all scans of traditional negatives developed in a small tank in my own concoctions that I mix from scratch. The nice thing about scanning is that the required average density / contrast of the negative is similar to that prefered for a condenser enlarger, so I didn't have to change my developing methods a whisker...

 

After adjusting the scanning parameters I do VERY LITTLE manipulation of the final image (resizing, cropping, retouching, curve adjustment) using GIMP software, in a word, nothing else I would do printing on POLYGRADE paper.

thank you for sharing. This was all photoshop mostly adjusted in channel mixer and curves. I have several filters from when I shot mostly film and am trying to accomplish similar effects digitally.
