A little bit surprising, a little bit funny. With a vanishing point like that, I don't expect to be suddenly wrenched off to the right. I like it.

Wow, a great composition full of unexpected perspectives and sudden turns. This is perhaps the superb view you'd have if you were road kill.

My intention was to set an apple core bottom right, I but threw it out without a second thought that morning, and to hike back a mile or so to the campsite just didn't seem worth it.

Aaron, I really like this image. It reminds me of several recent trips to the SW. I too love the unexpected curve near the top of the frame. I also like the way the texture of the asphalt almost appears to be very large film grain. I can feel the roughness of the road surface. I would have liked to see your planned apple core version!
