tinaforgetphotography 0 Posted June 4, 2006 Exquisite portrait filled with depth and meaning. Exceptionally well done, David. You have an incredible eye for portraiture. The composition easily rivals standard "posing" often found in portraits, and soars above and beyond. Your preference for this composition allows each brother to maintain individuality, while standing strong together. B&W and shadowing seal the deal. Kudos. T. Link to comment
jamila 0 Posted June 5, 2006 This is another wonderful B&W portrait! Excellent composition and clarity (yeah, I am not jealous of your L lens at all... ;-) It won't let me do 7/7 but that's what I would rate it. Link to comment
david_cassidy2 0 Posted June 5, 2006 Thank you so much for your kind words. I am always looking for that "unique moment" that sets a subject apart from the everyday. I felt the same way about this image, that they are quite distinct individuals but share a strong bond. This was actually taken with no posing; they were simply sitting there waiting for me to set up my gear when I noticed them not looking. I snapped the shutter before they even knew what was going on. It was the best image I made that day. - David Link to comment
david_cassidy2 0 Posted June 5, 2006 Thank you so much. Yes, that 24-70 L lens is my most precious lens. If I was allowed to carry just one lens, this would be it, without question. In fact, it is so good that I sold *all* of my medium format gear to pay for it. If you're at all considering purchasing one, believe me, you won't regret it. It's a heavy piece of glass, but the colour, contrast, sharpness and resolution of this lens is, for most practical purposes, as good as prime lenses. It's that good, and worth every penny. -David Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted June 7, 2006 I like the light here dear David :) and their expressions accentuated even more with this black around them. Only, the brother on left seems a little bit too much into the black, like he has only half of the face, a little bit strange to me :) IMHO! kslonaker 0 Posted June 10, 2006 My favorite in your people folder. Great use of darkness. Well balanced and very strong portrait, imo. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted June 11, 2006 David, to me this shot suggests a younger brother looking to an older brother for guidance and an older brother still looking to find his way. I like the shot very much. I do think maybe a tiny kicker on the shoulders of the left brother would have pulled him off the background a bit. By the way, here's another vote for the 24-70. It's a beast but what a great lens. Link to comment
