Wow, you have captured a beautiful mood. Great lighting, perfect shutter speed to record the spray. And a perfect composition, too. Just a great picture, congratulations!

I like the idea a lot but I think the exposure is caught on the fence. I'm distracted by the lack of detail in the clouds and (almost) lack of detail in the foreground rocks. You could also go the other direction, and remove as much detail as possible for an abstract look.

Wonderful in many ways, but the dark areas in the foreground really ruins it. Sure, it's different and interesting, but these dark areas really disturb me, and (if) it works, its because of its beauty, and then no part of it should be distracting. Still a nice photo.

Thanks for your all the comments. I agree, it would have been much easier to make a traditional sunset picture. Complete tonal range, and a firework of pleasing colors. Well, I took those also at the same location on many occassions.

When doing this photograph I wanted to explore the limits of visible light in combination with a stronger source of light.

I used a long exposure time for the scenery as such. For the choosen time-frame I expected another strong wave, high enough to capture the extra light needed for its exposure (like long-time exposure plus flash).

I just could not resist to capture those showers of water with light and I'll keep trying ;)

Your photos seem to create a dream-like state. This is lovely, but a little dark. I'd like to see more detail in the shadows.

Olivia, thanks for your kind comment. About the details, I wonder how to do it. Longer exposure ? But definitly no flash-light. It's no fun. Maybe I will try a torch-light next time (serious !).

Thank you for sharing this beautiful picture. It feels rather magical and eery, earthly and heavenly all at once. I wish I could have be standing right there where you took it - it feels so intimate and close.

Not until I read your description did I understand completely what this was. Clouds first popped up in my mind, but I had never experienced such a phenononym before. Well lit image, I'm glad you waited until that moment.

Not sure about other peoples monitor, the dark areas have some detail in it and do not bother me that much. I find this concept original and technique is well handled.

I also go back and forth with this. The dark rocks on the left don''t bother me. The dark blotch on the right does. There's still something unique about it

OK, I've looked and I've looked .... and finally decided what it is I like and what it is I don't like about the shot.

It's a great idea, and great composition. The lighting's perfect; the haze created around the foreground looks great; the strong shape of the rock adds focus, depth, and defintion; and, you have managed to capture what someone else has already described as a 'dreamlike' state in the sky.

But - this is where I'm going to differ from most, and I think from the photographer - by saying that I do not feel the light through the in dividual sprays coming up through to the middle of the picture add anything at all. In fact, I'm afraid I feel they detract from the overall image. Sorry - but it is just MHO.

Original idea but the result is a bit under the expectation. Might be due to the darkness
