Found that unusual mother this morning in the street, trying to put her baby to sleep, singing him a lullaby.... could not resist....

INTERESTING numbers, seconds after uploading... 3/3, 7/7...) both are not logical....

I hope to get written impressions, much better help....

Thanks Pnina

I think aesthetically would be better to include the mother's head and baby's foot. Nice effort though.

Thank you Lesa, at least some explanation... Well her head was cut deliberately, because even it was in the street it was a private moment, so I concentrated on the scene without exposing the mother. About the foot, it is your privilege to think it disturbes aesthetics, it does not disturbe the scene imo.Anyway, thanks for your point of view.

The exposure & colours are extremely good. However, I wonder if this moment isn't better treated in mono, Pnina? There is no sense of the lullaby, we only know that it is being sung because you tell us in words; do you think maybe a mono/ duo would help this moment cross over into the medium? And some soft focus?

Oh, Pnina, I think it looks exactly like she is trying to sing her baby to sleep, and it also looks like she is probably twisting her body gently which would be a natural rocking motion......wonderful moment to capture.....Jim

The mono does it for me, Pnina; I think another factor is the background - doesn't seem a very moody setting, but the toned version takes care of that.

(Yes, I agree about the mouth....something about the head being cropped at the eyes meant the first time I viewed I didn't spend much time there, now I see it.)

Seven, I think you are right about mono,( I should have thought of it! ) and I'm uploading it and changing the main one. I really like it in mono.

I do think that if you look at her head tilt and I have left her mouth, it looks like she is talking( lullaby) to the baby...What do you think?

Thanks for your second comment, I upload the colored version for comparison

Jim, you have a lot of experience with 10 grandchildren !( bless them), Thanks Jim.

Yes,Pnina I agree with the mono too, brings out the tender feeling. And I like the tactful crop, the baby's pacifier facing the moms mouth is a meaningful focus,

A modern version of the Madonna with the child. Pnina, you have captured a very tender moment of the eternal motherhood. The tiny hand resting on the chest of the mother is beautiful and evinces trust & love of the child for the mother.Composition, light & DOF are very good. I like it more in monochrome.

I like the image but the message inside it is even better. I don't mind what you have cropped... the most important is there! It looks warmer in mono of course.

I really love the way you've cropped this Pnina. It really focuses attention on mother and babe. A very fine capture. Regards, Kelvin.

Sorry I am late. Everyone already said just about eveything I would say, save the black & white version really works better for me, moving the image from simple color photography to good artistic composition.

Masterful. Only a supremely confident photographer, rooted in her vision, would show a picture like this which blithely ignores the standard rulebook dictums of photography in order to bring the viewer the essential experience. The figures are beautifully framed and set off by the soft, embracing foliage. This is what photography is all about, this picture.

To all of you.

Jack, being such a skilled street photographer, I appreciate your comment. Imo, rules are made to know them and than to " break" them.... if needed...
