David, this a very good portrait - I like the light and the crispness and clarity. The only one little thing is that his eye lead me out of the frame - maybe reverse the negative space? Maybe not, I don't know. feel free to delete this and the attachment

Jamila, thanks for the suggestion. Your idea is a very good. Both images are stong, and now I'm struggling to determine which I prefer ... it's very difficult to decide between the two! But I must admit, I'm leaning toward *your* version instead. - David :)

David - this is a very strong image. Your subject has much depth and possibly much angst within him. He toils over thoughts which are of great meaning to him on a personal level. I think that his looking "out of frame" exhibits his need to escape that which he believes confines him. You have captured this beautifully. Clearly another example of your fine skill as a portrait photographer. Excellent work! Respectfully, Tina

Thanks again for your comments. This was part of the same session and again, this was, like the "Brothers" image, an unposed shot; I was fiddling around with my gear and he was just sitting there waiting. He seemed quite preoccupied with something unpleasant and I simply took the picture. Sometimes you get lucky. -David
