What a great shot Paul.The silouettes of the buildings truly add a surreal aura to the shot. Great capture.
Thanks, Sebastian: It's funny that you mention the lens flare. I have some images from that morning without it but for some reason, I thought it would be more interesting. It's actually what tells someone it's a photograph. Our eyes don't see lens flares and yet, Photoshop offers it as a filter (which this is not), to put into an image? Once again, thanks for taking the time to comment.
A risky shot. The depots on the right are superb. I like also the flare here. Quite different form a typical sunset.
I agree, Sebastian. They can be as much a defect as they can be beautiful. It's up to the photographer to make it work or not...
Flares are commonly considered a defect in a pic. Many photographers are so trained to avoid them that always consider them cause of reject. In my case (and many others I guess) I am not so photographer, then flares are a resource as any other. I have used the photoshop flare to fake them in some pics. Rachelle Marshall uses them a lot in her wonderful concert pics.
