Hi Len:

I really like this composition a lot. Also, I suspect this would make a really good b&w conversion shot. Either way, the image has a nice feel to it.

Howard, Thanks for stopping by. As you can see from the shot my compositional options were few. I tried to reveal as much of the bridge as I could through the abundant foliage while eliminating or at least minimizing the sky area. The Agfa Ultra 50 film really exaggerates the colours, especially the greens so perhaps your suggestion to convert to B&W is a good way to go. Best, LM.

maybe it's the construction itself, but the whole bridge seems to me slightly tilted to the left. I would also suggest a horizontal flip to get better diagonal. Regards!

Peter, The bridge is designed with a slight tilt to allow the rain water to drain off quickly during a sudden torrential downpour. Wouldn't want the cars & trucks hydroplaning off into the (876 ft.) gorge now would we? Flipping the shot on the horizontal would have all the southbound vehicles now heading north & vice versa. How confusing would that be? Just funnin' with ya! I think you may have a point with the flip and the leaning bridge is probably just an optical illusion caused by my viewpoint. Last time I was over the bridge it was as flat as a billiards table. Not to worry! Thanks for stopping by & taking the time. Your comments really are appreciated. Best, LM.

Hey Len! I didn't know you had been to that bridge! I tried to get a shoy of it a couple of years ago on my way to Florida. I tried to get a good view of the bridge but couldn't get anything that illustrates its scale as well as this shot does. I think the green can easily be brought under control in PS. Considering the viewpoint options, I think you did a great job on the composition. What an impressive bridge!

Greg, Thanks for the positive feedback with suggested saturation adjustment. Better than my solution of just whining about it. I'd like to go to the middle of the bridge, lean over & watch my spit fall 876 ft to the bottom. :-) Best, LM.

Taken in the spring, this view would be largely concealed by the

mature vegetation of summer. Views\comments gratefully received.

Best, LM.

Always a pleasure to hear from you. Thanks for your thoughts & validation. It was indeed an impressive sight and at that time of year (early spring) you could actually see the bridge. (light vegetation). Best, LM.

Yes, sometimes the compression caused by using a telephoto enhances a photograph though in truth I was simply trying for a tight composition, not giving a thought to the compression effect. Luck is good! Nice to hear from you again. Best, LM.
