This picture was taken with a Canon 100-400mm at 400mm. 1/640s

f/5.6 Iso 250. Full frame.

This is a boreal lynx and this specimen lives in a park: Cabarceno

covers an area of more than 750 hectares and is the largest park of

its kind in Europe. It is a large open area where animals from all

over the world live in semi-liberty.

In Spain lives Lynx pardinus (iberian lynx) and it is,

unfortunately, a threatened specie. Animals are also ranked by their

level of vulnerability on a global level, which in essence ranks

their extinction risk. They are ranked from Category 1 (critical) to

Category 5 (common-low conservation priority). The Iberian Lynx is

the ONLY cat listed as Category 1, with less than 1200 animals

remaining in the wild. Of that 1200, only 300-350 are believed to be

breeding females. (Information from the IUCN Wild Cats Book)

I hope that my photographs about them be useful to love and help

these beautiful animals.

A fine nature shot. The blurred background fixes our attention on the animal. I imagine this must have been quite a difficult shot to capture.

Excellent capture. Especially I like the "hunting" look of the lynx. I should have rated you 7/7, but the system only gives me permission to give you 6/6.

exceptional capture. excelente! and thanks for providing the photo details (1/640, f stop, etc.). it's nice to see a *real* image instead of all of the photoshopped nonsense that is so abundant.

Very nice & crisp. The color is a little tilted towards the warmer side but nice. Was the background untouched or was it further softened in PS?
