She's beautiful!! I love your treatment of these photos, with the very low saturation. Wonderful detail, too. I hope that she loved what was in the bag! :-)

On the danish photo side, where I post mostly, they didn't like this

because of the looking person in the background. I like it specially

for the person in the background .. makes the story more complete

and interesting I think. Your opinion is???? Thanks for taking

This is a beautiful shot. Maybe for the formal composition of the photo the person in the background is a little disturbing, yes, but she completes the story, waiting for the reaction of the girl to the opening of the box.

.... and for the girl: it's the one daughter of my sister you didn't happen to meet. The photo is from her confirmation day when she is unpacking all the gifts. She told me yesterday when she saw this picture that she was trying to unpack without destroying the wrapping because it was so beautiful and original. She respected the time and the thoughts the person had put in the wrapping of the gift.

 

The light is natural dayligth from the window in front of her and the way I was positioned it was hard to get 'eye contact' with her.

Hi Bente! I was actually thinking that she looks a lot like your sister that I DID meet, Alis. I can imagine that she would want to protect the wrappings. I hope that she was successful!

Bent,a situation of us all! and you have uploaded a real nice image. the curiosity of what is in the gift ... and the observing look of the mother? or who ever is observing the child's reaction.

I like the face in the background, too - adds interest. This would also be a strong portrait without it, though. Nice lighting and pose of the "gift-opener".

Bente, what a great image. . the look of anticipation on both the part of the recipient and the viewer make this a great portrait. . . and the lighting and tones add to the aesthetics of the image. .
