Divine Light

ian cameron

Location: Loch Linhe, Kinlochleven, Glencoe, Scotland.Eilean Munde is the burial island it is slap bang in the middle of the loch near Glencoe village and surrounded on all sides by the noble mountains that make up the area of Glencoe. The weather had been simply hideous all day and then as if by magic the sun came out for just a few seconds and as luck would have it shone on the burial island itself leaving everything else in gloom. A divine light indeed. Please take a look at some new images recently uploaded to Transient Light and Timecatcher.

Extreme light strikes the burial island of Eilean Munde on the most

abysmal day in Glencoe, Scotland. The light came and went in less

than a minute never to return. Fortunately during that minute it

struck the island of buried souls.

A very good capture, one of those fleeting moments of brilliance on rainy spring days.Excellent definition in the clouds indicative of perfect exposure.

Not exactly, it was due to a cheap polariser with a built in warm up 81a filter. I don't use this polariser anymore as the results can be unpredictable with neutral colours. I should have eliminated the cast in photoshop but on this occasion I quite enjoy the warmth it produces suffused with the general cool feeling that the image produces.

Nice capture Ian. Most of us want light on tap, and the only true way to get it is through patience, so well done here. The sky is great and the pink/magenta is fine I think. Overall it is a beaut'.

Best regards Michael
