WJT 609 Posted May 25, 2006 ...Very nice photograph! Lake Superior is one of the most beautiful bodies of water and you did a beautiful job here depicting it. I especially like how you caught some of the waves breaking on the shore; not an easy thing to do at this location. Great color!Michigan's UP is one of my all time favorite locations. For the past ten years or so I have made an annual excursion in Spring to the UP. My primary reason for going was to prove that I was smarter than the local trout; sometimes it worked out that I was, but usually not. Photographing the sites along the Lake Superior shore is also a strong incentive to go there; there are so many great locations. Miner's Castle, of course, was always at the top of my list.I hope that this was not your first time visiting this spot. A couple of months ago, one of the large "turrets" of the castle crashed into Lake Superior. I see in this photograph that one is missing, so this is after the crash. For those who have not seen the way it originally was, you may view it here. From what I understand, a couple of guys were fishing in a boat were very near to the main formation when the turret came down. Fortunately, no one was hurt.Once again, Sondra, very nice! Regards. aepelbacher 0 Posted June 27, 2006 I love it ... and I love Walter's attached reference image. How interesting the history of a place! I'll need to include this in my MI coastal tour. I really like the colors in the water that match the colors in the trees and the contrasting oranges. Link to comment
