gungajim 75 Posted May 24, 2006 Great panorama and from the large view the changes in elevation are clear and dramatic. I presume it was taken from a plane. How high were you? Link to comment

creative art and photograp 0 Posted May 24, 2006 Great photo! Could you let us know how you managed to filter out the horrible blue cast one usually gets from shooting out of a side window in an airliner? Even if you want to keep the secret to yourself, keep shooting and sharing! Well done! Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted May 24, 2006 GungaJim, Tim and Bill for stopping by and commenting on this. GungaJim, yes, this was taken from a commercial airplane and I think the altitude is about 35,000 ft. Bill, the original image definitely suffers from the blue cast and is not quite as sharp as I want. The followings are the post-process steps that I applied to most of my aerial shots. 1. Changed the white balance from auto to shade in Nikon Editor. 2. Sharpen the image to low/medium level in Nikon Editor depends on how clear the original shot is. 3. Auto Contrast without color changes in Nikon Editor. 4. Save the image in jpg format and tweak it a little bit (mostly level, saturation and noise) in PS and Neat Image. Hope this helps.
