aepelbacher 0 Posted May 22, 2006 Thoughts? Have I included too much of the wiring? Not enough of the other parts of the Eye? Should it have been B&W? Not contrasty enough? Any other thoughts? Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted May 23, 2006 Nice to see some London shots from you Lou Ann :o) I think this looks more impressive (powerful) in B/W. Here's another look. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 23, 2006 You know, David, I went back and forth about B&W or color for this one. The blue was just so pretty!! But you're right, the B&W is more powerful ... just like in the other Eye shots that I have here. Thanks for the suggestion.By the way, you do know that I am eventually going to spend an entire summer touring the Michigan coasts!? I have family all over the state (except for the UP or Mackinaw), and have been there several times. It will be a great place to shoot. But ... why am I telling YOU this? :-) Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted May 23, 2006 Lou Ann, would agree with David. I like it in B&W better too. Nice series going on here. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted May 24, 2006 Nice shot emphasising the 'bicycle wheel' aspect of the Eye. Just to be confusing I go for the colour version! Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted May 24, 2006 An entire summer? I can barely get a 2 weeks off from work (though I'm thankful for that). I can't imagine the photographic possibilities with that kind of time on my hands. I hope you do get the chance to make the trip. Let me know if you need any pointers on where to shoot, but you sound like you know where you're going already... Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 24, 2006 David - I'm not VERY familiar with Michigan, but have family all over the state, and have been in the Novi area many times, and as far north as Clare and the lakes in that area. I have a cousin in Traverse City, as well. A whole summer would also include lots of family time as well as some fun time at my uncle's cottage on the lake (near Clare). I'd love to see Mackinaw and the UP, too. I'm positive that I could spend more than two months and not even scratch the surface. :-) Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted May 24, 2006 Lou Ann, color is good, but in this case I think the b/w makes a statement. Sondra Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted May 26, 2006 This reminds me of some of the electrical connections I've seen in other countries.... Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 27, 2006 I agree B&W makes it more powerful! Nice shot, Lou Ann. Link to comment
kleintje 0 Posted August 1, 2006 With this many white clouds in the sky, I think the b&w version works better. The colour version I think might have worked better when there would have been less clouds and more blue. But it's definitely an original composition, aiming at the eye of the Eye. Link to comment
