I have spent quite a time to look at this photo. So far, it has been quite underrated, as far as aesthetic is concerned. I have asked myself: why? No comments of course. So here are my suggestions: few colours? A photo does not have to be multicoloured to be granted good ratings. It is focused, so technique is out of question. Maybe the DOF is shallow, but this is a matter of taste. The composition is good. One could argue about originality, instead. Perhaps the head of a bird is not that interesting ;-).

Anyway, a good shot overall. This is my opinion. Cheers

I completely understand your fascination with the attempt to capture the amazing details and colors in the bird world. You have done an extraordinary job getting so close up (how DID you do that?) and as mentioned before, there is excellent clarity of detail and color. I like this very much...and btw, thanks for being so kind to my own humble attempts at photography.
