Spikes

Taken near Mormon Rocks, Southern CA, Kodak DC280 Digital.

I like this landscape. Interesting composition with the shadows and the tree combined, looks like crosses or something. nice angle too. Hey Jeff I checked out some of your other work and I like it as well. I think you should try and move up to medium or large format. The details will come out even better. If I lived close to you I would go on a photo shoot with you and you could try out my field camera or 6 x 7.

Different and interesting. The tree in foreground almost looks like a cable protruding from the ground with a frayed end.

I like the strong geometry and the way it focuses on the desolate distance. I'm not particularly fond of the backlit bushes in the foreground. I might have tried a shot with a fill flash to get some detail and texture out of them. In addition, the photograph seems a bit "soft" to me. There aren't the harsh, sharp edges that the print seems to beg for.

 

I like the way you cropped the picture and, beyond what was mentioned above, your choice in plants to shoot through.
