To begin with I don't like to drop names, but this is a case of the exception. This work has a primordial sense about it which allow any viewer to immediately have some human indentification with. The overall lighting has a definate Rembrandtian sense to it that only add to the drama as well as feed a peculiar and strange element. A lovely print indeed. Thanx for posting this one.

Rembrandt and the other Dutch masters played with an manipulated light to an extraordinary degree, and I regard this shot as a modern day homage to them.

 

Question, though, Jose: Surely you've done some manipulation in PS. Where was this shot? Was that the original background?
