Here's a color rendition of the Eye for you. Did I mention that I was fascinated by the London Eye? :-) I loved the square crop for this, as well as the gorgeous blue sky. What are your thoughts?

I DID ride on it, and loved it. And, to qualify, I'm not exactly an "amusement park ride" kind of person. But it moves SUPER slowly!! It takes 1/2 hour for one revolution. And, although the cars are glass all around, the floor is solid, and I just did NOT feel uncomfortable. By the time I realized that we were at the top (again, not moving fast enough to be hyper-aware of it), we had such a gorgeous view of the city that I just couldn't decide whether to gawk or to take photos. :-)

Nice! In fact, giving such a fraction of the entire eye makes the viewer feel that its entirety is humongous! I love the clear day factor too. Lovely work!

As a native Englishman, I suppose I really ought to venture down to London and have a go in this wonder.

Stunning capture, Lou Anne! Clear in composition, detailed, excellent crop and on the top of it a fine blue sky! Beautiful!

Nice composition. Good eye you have. I thought this might benefit from more shadow detail, a little sharpening, and brightening. This is what I had in mind.

Lou Ann, it is a very nice crop idea. Details on the blue sky are very well seen. Lovely and well composed.

Nice detail of the pods - very strong and eye-catching. I like the placing of the pods n the frame and the repetition of the shapes works well. You are right about the Eye not being at all scary - it feels very secure. I have heard of lots of places now thinking of having their own big wheels (Paris has had one for ages but everyone goes up the Eiffel tower instead).

Good composition, here Lou Ann. I also like what Ken did, in sharpening....
