can i tell you something?...this is a great shot!!!...the 70-300 IS did a outstandingt job!....very sharp image and a 6/6!

Excelent capture, great colors, I did'n know that this lens get so nice shot.. I think it's made on maxim focal length. I say that because I played with an 20d and this lens of a friend.

I know what you mean, I am always happy to get a new species as well. This one is a tad bright and busy, but there is some really good detail and a nice look back from the bird. Congrats!

Thanks for the comments. Yes it was shot at maximum focal length. Agreed it is a little busy. It might not look quite so bright if the branch he was sitting on wasn't damaged from being used as a perch from every bird in my yard. Particularly, the blue jays like to crack open their sunflower seeds against that branch.

Doesn't look all that busy to me. Bird is clear and distinct, colors are rich, and you got a responsive look. What more could you ask!
