Well, I recognize the remnants as that of about a 1986 Honda Civic..I deferred a business trip to Wichita Some years ago after seeing the weather report on the tube. My timing was good and I got to see the aftermath which looked like this. In some places, even the bark was stripped off the trees. Dazed and homeless people were gathering what was left.

A truly humbling experience to view these photos, I can not imagine the impact it would have seeing first hand.

My mind repels at the thought of what happens to flesh and bone if it is caught out by a tornado.

Ray, excellent documentary photos...satisfying on a level of making the public aware rather than the uniqueness of the photos.

is that what americans refer to as a compact ?. it amazes me that you can have clear blue skys and not a breath of wind only moments after a tornado has ripped through. my all time fave photo depicting the power of the wind is of a piece of straw that has been driven completely through a telegraph pole.
