fleetwheels 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Excellent timing Ellen. The lighting, combination of colours and also the sharpness is spot on. The two insects, one open winged the other at rest, documents the insect well. Have you tried a portrait oriented crop using just the lefthand ladybird and sharpest flower? It is also a superb image! d.v.bladel 0 Posted May 14, 2006 Deze foto had ik nog niet gezien, inderdaad h马 mooi met die prachtige blauwe bloemetjes, de meeste in bloei en sommige nog in knop. Een rustend torretje en een vliegt net weg op het juiste moment gevangen. Ik wist niet dat die zo'n plat lijf hebben, want in de ruststand zien ze er rond uit. Gr. Link to comment

stilfoto 0 Posted May 16, 2006 This is, by a large margin, the best "flower and insect" picture I've ever seen. How you've managed to capture this is beyond me to understand (I imagine you hiding in the grass for hours and shooting several hundred pictures before you got this) - but this just proves that patience pays off in the end.Furthermore your post processing is state of the art and the finished picture is just amazing. My compliments... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 16, 2006 Beautiful collection of lady bugs you've done. Very nice timing on this shot, just wish that the lady was facing this way instead. Reminds me of "A Bug's Life"(?) and that I should invest in a macro lens. Link to comment
coolapix 0 Posted May 16, 2006 Very nice job ! It's very difficult to catch them when they open their wings. Link to comment
bogdan_dumitru 0 Posted May 17, 2006 The lady-bug lady strikes back ;-) You have a gift for these type of photos, Ellen (and not only this type). The timing is accurate to the 1/1,000,000 part of a second, to catch those fast-moving wings open. The contrast is superb. Amazing bokeh, too. Just a piece of art... 6/6, bravo! I've been away from PN for one month and I couldn't wait to see what the gifted photographers around have come with meanwhile. I took a few photos while I was away and a couple of them are in my most recent submissions folder. Shall you have the time, I'm anxious as always to know what you think by your ratings and words, if you have a second. Link to comment
