maria 7 Posted May 14, 2006 I must admit that on the screen of the digital camera, the colours looked much better than on the screen of the computer - any suggestions? Maybe it's just the graphic card of the computer and you see it better? please let me know many thanks Maria Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted May 14, 2006 Hello Maria! You have got very nice photos from classical english sites. You were wondering about the colors in your photo. If you dont mind, I downloaded it and saturated it a little, I also enhanced slightly the dark and middle tones. Please, comment what do you think of the edited photo. Have a nice day! maria 7 Posted May 16, 2006 Hi, thanks for the kind comment and for the improved version! To be honest, I tried saturation but I was afraid of saturating so much; I found the dark blues in the background strange ... Sorry for returning in a few days - unfortunately this seems to become the rule for my presence on photo.net during this project. kind regards Maria Link to comment
tmjacobs 0 Posted May 10, 2007 Your version is much better than the 'improved' version from Alpo, which is way too saturated. It may sound weird but to improve saturation, the saturation tool is the one to avoid - or at least use very modestly. Using curves & levels often works much better. I find the shadow & highlight tool in PS to be very useful and easy. But apart from that your photo is probably true to how it was. The LCD screen of a camera can often give a too saturated image. A Polarisation filter might have helped. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted May 11, 2007 Thank you for your comment. Yes, indeed, the colours on the LCD of the camera are stronger than on the computer monitor, I never managed to reproduce them by playing with the software ... (using the curves for example). The shadow I never used but I do not use photoshop. regards Maria Link to comment
