papasan 0 Posted May 11, 2006 another beautiful picture Michael. You seem to have a knack for capturing dramatic skies. I particularly like the contrast of the bright orangy color in the foreground against the dark sky. Great work. Link to comment
rconey 295 Posted May 11, 2006 Very striking. Storming the castle doesn't look so good. Enjoyable. Thanks. Regards. Link to comment
ian cameron 0 Posted May 11, 2006 Hi Michael, excellent composition and great use of those colourful lichens. The sky is undeniably effective holding the eye in the picture by virtue of its darkness, but, (and this is purely personal), I think I would prefer that aspect to be a little less processed looking, others understandably will disagree. newfocus 0 Posted May 12, 2006 The burning in of the corners is maybe slightly over-done for my tastes but I still like it a lot. Great shot. Link to comment
mrhaydon 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Thanks John and all. The idea here and in many of my 'Holy Island' Lindisfarne shots is to travel back in time and recreate a medievil world where England was struggling with it's faith, a 'peephole' snapshot of the past. This is the supposed birthplace of Christianity, a struggle in itself. When I visited this Island last year there was plenty to remind me of her past. Link to comment

ianflindt 0 Posted May 15, 2006 A wonderfully atmospheric image, full of mood and foreboding. I love the line of rust-coloured rocks pulling the eye upto the castle. Stunning work. Link to comment
