I've tried to create a night scene out of a day shot. I'm not sure if

I've succeeded. So your constructive comments are very welcome! Thank

you, Ada.

Excellent try Ada. But the warm light on the roof, and the warm golden reflection give it away because they don't agree with the dark cloudy sky. Other than that, a nice picture of the houses on the canal. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there. I really like this photo. I think it almost looks like there is a fire burning across from the house rather then a sun glow.. Great Job Jaeme

Thank you very much for you kind words Charles. I know what you mean. I was in doubt to add a golden moon but I have decided to leave the moon behind the trees. The titel of my picture refers to that. But to compare I will make a new version with a yellow moon not hidden but visible in the sky. Perhaps that will look more plausible. At any rate, I appreciate your thought and opinion very much, Charles. Greetz, Ada:)

Hi Jaeme, nice you drop by and thank you for given me your thoughts. You are right. The whole scene looks very smooky. And yes, everthing is possible here. I've given my fantasy free rein so what you see isn't reality but pure imagination. And luckily there is a lot permitted in fantasy world. Cheers and greetings from Holland, Ada:)

Tony, Gerry, Peter and Julio, thank you all for your comments. I really appreciate them.

Hi Tony, I'm really glad that you like this day into night transformation. Well, it's not such a surprise eh? You're always in the mood for this kind of things, hihi:~)

Gerry, I don't know the exact translation for the word 'stretch' but I have a hunch;-) So I'm really glad you do like it as a fantasyshot. And it is a fantasyshot because the original is taken by daylight.

This one is beautiful in every way. I like the angle of the building and the stream and the trees. I love the light. It looks like you did what you wanted to do. Compliments.

Hallo Ada,

Groetjes, Wim.

Hi, Ada. I love this, and I think that perhaps it would work with the golden moon color all over, wherever there is light.

Otherwise, some kind of selective desaturation might be in order. What I am offering here is only a quick example of the kinds of effects that might be possible.

The problem is that one loses that beautiful gold that you have there already, which is why I think that I would use that color in the entire photo.

Ada, I keep coming back to this, since I think that it is potentially one of the best photos that you have ever posted.

It occurred to me that, with the golden reflections on roof and water, perhaps it might better be treated as a twilight or very late afternoon shot rather than as a night shot.

It is still, after all, the golds that get one's attention, and especially that found in the water (and of course in the windows).

I will be interested in seeing what you do with this one, once you have decided what time or day or night you want to consistently follow in your lighting. As a night shot, there is going to be the continuing problem as to where the reflections are coming from in the dark sky.

Hi Paula, each time it's nice to see you and I like to say thanks for your visit and your kind words of appreciation.

Hi Lannie, great to see you and thank you for giving me your positive thoughts about my creation. I really like what you've done with my picture. It looks more real but at the same time that includes (at least that is my opinion en I hope you don't mind) that it looks a bit dull in contrast to my version. But perhaps other people don't share my opinion. I'm curious to know.

I agree with you that the version I have created doesn't look very logical because of the golden light which isn't all over the place in the picture. But it was not my intention to make a logical version. I had planned to give my fantasy free rein and this is the result. The moon is hidden just as any other source of light. From where is that golden light coming? It's not coming from inside the castle and it's not coming from outside the castle. The real source stays a mystery.

I feel really flattered that you think this one is my best uploaded picture till now dear Lannie, but I do not agree. To my opinion I have made better ones. But thank you so much for the compliment Lannie.

As I interpret your words well, you've asked me to come to a final decision because of the time of the day in this shot. Well..... I think it's almost five to twelve or something like that:)))

Many greetings to all of you, Ada:~)

You're right, Ada. What is logical can be so dull. Your original catches the eye, and that is what is important.
