coukiedoe 0 Posted May 7, 2006 I have just discovered photo.net -- I'm testing the options available. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing exactly for the moment, so please forgive me I've made any mistake. This photograph was taken two years ago with a camcorder camera (the worse kind!). However, the photo really triggered my love for photography. I'd be interested to see what others thought of it. On a deeper basis, we could question the nature of human beings and war through this photograph. Little boys have always enjoyed playing Cops and Robbers, War, etc without actually considering the consequences of the real-life version of their game. Did Olivier consider that millions have died doing what he considers fun? Obviously he's only playing -- but I suppose some could consider actual war amusing, or at least thrilling, too. rapo 0 Posted May 7, 2006 I like this picture. There something striking in the very "war professionnal" attitude an in the bright and sincere smile of the boy. I wonder if some darkening of the edges would focus the attention on the boy? Very good anyway. Where was it shot? Yours Link to comment
chad_goldman 0 Posted May 7, 2006 No, Oliver considered none of those things. He's a kid, he has few worries, and he just wants to imitate what he sees on TV and have fun. I did all those things and never once connected it to reality. I just had fun. Now was I a twisted SOB? not even close, at least I don't think so. Kids have that innocence that we adults loose all too soon. As for the photo, really like it. That look in his eye is more dangerous than his smile. well done cg Link to comment
