oswegophoto 1 Posted May 7, 2006 Sections of the old fence — now forcibly retired — lean in repose, while, behind, the new fence stands upright, on duty. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 8, 2006 This looks like déjà vu - only mine was destroyed from the bottom up by a Beaver-Jack Russell cross! I love the DOF in this, of course, with just enough to let us know what the background IS. You also handled the dappled light very well here - tricky stuff, that! Link to comment
daily_photograph 0 Posted May 8, 2006 So the situation already offered you the angle? Lazy! :-)) Well seen! Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted May 8, 2006 Lee, thanks ever so. My dachshunds would love to meet your, um ... critter. They don't destroy fences, they laugh — and tunnel. I feel like Colonel Klink sometimes. And I waited for this light, then exposed for the shadows.Daily, merci! Though I really must rebut < ahem > that one man's "lazy" is another's "efficient." Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 12, 2006 very nice textures and colours. great angle, and good idea to expose for the shadows. Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted May 17, 2006 Don, great point of the view, love the color combination ( green & brown ), original & unique, stunning achieved!!! Best regards. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted May 17, 2006 Hanna, thanks!Klaus, thank you. Textures & colors by nature (mostly); angle of repose by accident. But, yep, exposure by me (woo-hoo)!Richard, you're too kind. I really can't take credit for the colors of fresh cedar and old moss. But I happily accept compliments from such as you three. I may blush, but I surely accept. :-) Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted May 17, 2006 Beautiful, Don. I'll respect the author's viewpoint and compliment him on the beautiful composition, and the rest of the praise will go to mother nature for the tender green and pink ( the photographer too actually, for he managed to get the right exposure in difficult conditions of wide dynamic range). schneekranich 0 Posted May 19, 2006 good exposure-job! I also like the green/red and the lines. It happens often that I enjoy some shadow-playing-light but am not able to show it in a photograph or turn it into an interesting picture. You did well here! Link to comment
elina_kangas 0 Posted June 7, 2006 My first thought when the pic opened, how happy the pic looks. - And then I noticed the name of it "Off Duty"... Maybe that is the reason for happines =) So I like this. The composition, colours and easy-going atmosphere... Link to comment
