Definitely a 7 in aesthetics (and I really can't understand how someone rated this 3/3...)

Excellent composition. I like the shadow green diagonal leading the eye to the droplet and the light spot in the right lower corner. Very nicely done. (Helmut, the 3/3s are generally "bot" generated, just have to live with them)

Great picture. I like these simple lines. Eyes drawn to the drop of water with the reflection of a leaf. Not too sure how you could get rid of the white dot at the bottom right which i found a bit distracting.

Thank's a lot. I am so glad you like it. I do too :-)

It semes like some like the reflektion i the bottom and some don't. i like it, I think it makes the photo more dynamic. But It's a matter of taste I think.

Hmmm The Ratings ??? Well it got 2, 3/3... and 2, 7/7

I don't understand the system and the criterion to rate.

At first I was shocked by it and deleted all my photos.

Thank Marlene

I personally like the light in the right corner and I don't think the picture would work as well without it. To me that is because your picture is all about balance. The dropplet is balancing delicately at the tip of the grass blade. The bright light in the corner also provides balance and symetry to your photo. Overall the tone of your picture is dark, with only these two highlights. The two work together to keep the light, form and composition balanced. The white light also serves as a good entrance point for your eye who is then gently guided to the tiny dropplet by the green diagonal line.

Have you followed the discussion on the thread 'Photo ratings - a general comment on general silliness'. The rating system is considered and what constitues art.

From an individual perspective anonymous criticism, especially if it is negative may be seen as unfair or unwarranted especially after one has put ones heart and soul into a picture. I would suspect that there are plenty of individuals out there who like what it is you are trying to do. Keep it up. At least you have taken the step of submitting to PN.

good luck
