Beautiful close-up photograph. Sharp, bright and colorful. Only, appears to be very tightly cropped.

how close have you been when you shot this?

Thanks DILIP and OMER for your comments, this is full negative shot done at 300mm lens setting with macro mode, no croping was done. This bird`s colour is pure dark with blue tone and is very small in size and very fast in movements.I was only 5-6ft away from this bird at the time when it was done.

You did a wonderful job of capturing this usually private moment in the life of a hummingbird. The many colored strings of this and that for the nest are a nice touch here! You also have captured much more detail than we usually see. I do agree somewhat about the close crop on the left, but that doesn't affect all of the above positive elements of this shot for me. Just terrific.

Beautiful photo ! This is not a hummingbird.... There is no hummingbird in India, only in north and south america.... if I remember, this is a suimanga or something like that

Dear friend, I really didn't know there are hummingbirds in Asia, neither in Europe! By information I knew that this little mother nature's jewel existed only in Americas...Very curious indeed.
