jayme 0 Posted May 4, 2006 I enjoyed this amazing scene of yellow against a blue sky. These little "tassels" as I call them are beautiful on the trees, but a pain in the rear when they fall all over the place, especially my driveway. I remind myself how beautiful they are on the trees as I sweep up piles from my drive!!!!! Thanks for looking. I, of course, enhanced the contrast, softened & detailed the lines a little in PS. They look like little fireworks explosions. Maybe I should have included this in my old "Natures Fireworks" collection. I personally like natures version of fireworks, a lot less noise! Here's the original cropped only. I may have over done it :) But... I was playing again! Thanks. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 5, 2006 I thought you had done considerable PS work on this one, but really, the original isn't that far off your posted shot. I really like this one, Jayme. Very appealing. I like the almost abstract form to it and the colors and lighting. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted May 5, 2006 Very difficult to shoot with so much clutter but you made it perfect Jayme. Lovely ambience. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted May 6, 2006 I had the same thought as Kim - PS work to the fore - but I find it ain't so. Beuatiful and deceptively simple shot but with the light and the composition a satisfying and subtle image. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted May 7, 2006 Thanks all- I was feeling rather in awe when I shot this. The huge trees all seemed to "glow" as the light filtered through the bright yellow tassels. The blue sky in the background was a particularly beautiful shade of "early morning blue". (Is that in the crayon box? Maybe the expanded version :) Anyway, it was amazing. By no means did I capture the feeling I wanted. But... I found the shot acceptable :) I'll try again next year :) Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted May 7, 2006 A difficult shot beautifully done: all a'glowing. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 10, 2006 I'm with Kim - I was expecting to find out that you did a huge amount of PS. It's the green glow that you mention. I really like it ... and it really is rather magical and mystical feeling. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Paula- Thanks :) I like "a'glowinng" That must be a Southern term LOL :) Mehmet- Thank you :) Lou Ann- I did do some PS, but it was truly an interesting scene. That's why I wanted to include the original :) Bob- You are too kind :) Let's keep this between you & I, LOL. Not sure I could take the usual tripe discussed by the "regular" PN photo "critics". I just might fall off my chair laughing & God knows I don't want to break anything else :) My new motorcycle is enough fun! I think I'm about ready to exit the parking lot, on my own :) LOL I just have to watch out for, but definitely not look at, those curbs! You know the old saying, "Where ever you look on a motorcycle is where you go!" I learned that one early on:) I would have loved to have had a photo of my husband's face as I was heading straight for him at half throttle :0. LOL He denies it, but I think he wet his pants! timnichols 0 Posted May 10, 2006 You continue to produce gorgeous compositions of common things (which are beautiful but often unnoticed). Compliments! Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted May 29, 2006 An excellent firework of spring colors, well seen and captured. Good idea to take the long lens, makes the "tassels" stand out nicely. I like the branch coming exactly from the LL corner, diagonally, very aesthetic Link to comment
