Thanks for your thoughts, Pnina

I like the way you did this image, Pnina. Would have thought this is a theatre stage act, rather than a dance act. Their expression & pose are lively. Very story telling.

Cherlyn, I freeze moments of the dance, but in reality it is flowing movements. I connect to that choreographer because there is somthing very human and touching in his work. The process he and the dancers are creating is evoking in me a response which is my own interpretation of their work.So it is a very rewarding togetherness. Thanks for liking it.

For sure, this works and tell a story.

The interesting question is whether it will work also without the other image in the centre of the scene. Probably yes, since there is lots of tension in the pose of the dancers. What do you think?

Actually, many of your shots on this subject represent a strong tension in their poses, what I think is a very succesful effort to convey something dynamic -the dance- in a forcedly static medium -photography.

I like this series. A creative and challenging subject matter with a very artistic flare and many photographic opportunities. This is a dramatic and theatrical capture. I like the tones and composition.

My initially intention was to upload it with only the two dancers because imo it has enough tension to hold the composition, but I have added the center because in the reality of the dance, the trio group is a part of the "paragraph", and the two dancers are running a distance inside the stage to join and form a trio. I try to follow the dance formation, and interprete it in my own way . Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

Hanna, thanks

Intriguing, well balanced and emotional. Balance would be enhanced if the dancer on the left was a bit further to the right but I realise you don't have that kind of control over your subjects! I like this one the best out of your recent work Pnina.

Ken, we were writing at the same time.... Thanks for your feedback, being an artist yourself ( your beautiful music, photography, and even your profession)I appreciate your comment.

Mike, I have quite a control of my shooting, as the formation of the dance needs repetitions of every act( rehearsals), so if it didnot work the first time, it works the second, or even fifth...For compositional interest and building, I have placed the group a bit on the left side, if the left dancer was more to the right the group will become too centered to my taste, but your point of view can be different from mine, and I appreciate it very much. It is a work in formation and progress.

Two scenes in one. As far as expressions go and demeanor, I am particularly struck by the dancer on the far left.

Thank you Amar, I appreciate your comments based on your own work experience with dance. My upper two comments are explaining, I think, my considerations of every act.( In the reality of the dance it is one" paragraph").

I find it amazing how you managed to capture the tension between the two persons in the foreground. Adding the image in the background only adds to this feeling. Truely a photo that tells a story, though to my feeling, not a happy one...

Pnina, this is really "speaking"; whatever the subject, there is palpable tension I like how the two side dancers for a door to the group in the center.

Hi Pnina, I believe that the composite adds up to more than the sum of the two individual scenes and makes for a more intriguing image. . . the tension viewed in the background is visibly magnified in the foreground. .an excellent creative interpretation. . .

Beautiful composition and I love the way that you have framed the three characters in the background wit the two ladies (Who are certainly communicating)in the foreground.

Great image.

Looking again, I now agree with you Pnina. Your slight offset on the left is a good thing. It creates a space and a tension on that side. I have a habit of looking for symmetry which is not always a good habit!

I love the concept. The clustering for the three dancers in midframe adds contrast to the two separated and somewhat confrontational dancers in the foreground. I note that the foreground pair is also part of the trio. Pninna, is the central image reflecting their memories? Were they fighting for the guy earlier!? Lucky man! LOL. Regards, Kelvin.
