Moon and Hawk as fog lifts

Ya, but will the hawk be there? You are lucky to catch this type of shot with a hawk at night. wonderful! elisabeth ;)

Elisabeth, thanks for dropping by. The assumption here is that it's night time. To my knowledge, hawks don't have the vision, like owls, to see well enough at night for hunting.

Metering off a bright background, the hawk and dead tree were under exposed. I then turned it into grayscale. Those 2 steps really do make it look like a night shot.

Dave, of all of your bird shots (and some of the hummers are superb), this is my favorite. The composition is great, and the image really imparts a mood. Well done.
