tikshome 0 Posted May 3, 2006 I like that it's there. I think the picture would be too plain without the house and tree in the background. Just my opinion, of course! Link to comment
dimartino 0 Posted May 3, 2006 Dave, I agree with Kate about the house, but I also think it could work well both ways. The crop on the house is a bit tight. I wish there could be more open sky like this in Jersey. Link to comment
garydad 0 Posted May 3, 2006 Dave, my vote is to leave the house in the shot. I think it brings balance to the photograph plus it is another element of interest without being distracting. There seems to be a nice flow for the eyes (established by the direction of the fence) from left to right and front to back; the house follows that flow from the barn. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted May 3, 2006 Thanks for the comments. This was taken a few years ago, It's not like me to crop tight in the original shot but leave that for post. Must have been a reason, notice above the roof of the house. My sense is that hillside didn't fit the mood I was attempting to capture (guess I could have color corrected in PS). Thanks again, Dave Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Great shot, Dave. House doesn't hurt it at all. It is a bit close to the border, but balances well, and adds even more interest.Doesn't show in this small image, but the two black spots, on the hill above the house, and the telephone pole, tended to draw attention, that(for me), didn't fit the aged image. Of course, I've always hated poles and wires. Anyway, it's excellent, both in colour and grayscale. Link to comment
