Morning Web revisited

dave_dube

Cropped down, original had blurred tree on right for contrast. I'm using the matte for contrast on this one without the distraction on the right.

Cropped down and using matte for contrast, original had blurred tree

on right for contrast. Thanks to a critique of the first, I think

this is much more appealing.

That is quite a web - I am bit jealous that i ave not been so lucky to find a web like that to photograph. But then again I might NOT want to encounter the spider that produced it. Congrats.

John, Julio and Kathy - thanks for your comments.

Thanks Tony, it does look pretty dramatic. The conditions were perfect, no breeze, sun was just coming up, cool temp with heavy dew. I took the web shot with the sun coming up to the back right of the photo. Once the sun got on it that was the end, it was heavily dissolved about 45min after this shot.

Thanks Shawn!

The conditions just played out perfect. The web was made during the night and the dew didn't come down until approx 0400. I was up and out early to start painting my house. As soon as the sun's rays were above the horizon and hit the web, it desolved.

Regards, Dave

Very good shot of this spider's home. You have the DOF perfect to show the intricate net. Very nice composition with the web (busy detail) balanced by the quiet area on the bottom left and right, forming triangular areas.

This is one of my favorite photos of yours. I thought I had commented it long ago.

Maggie, I had 2 versions posted, maybe you commented on the other? Not sure if I still have both posted, I've taken some of my photos out of PN. Wasn't sure if I would be keeping my membership. If I'm not a paying member, I would only be able to keep 6 photos.

Thanks for your continued support. Dave

Hmmmmmmm, might have been what happened to it.

I wonder about that 6 limit as I see a few old friends who have not renewed their memberships that still have most of their portfolios intact. Its not a huge amount to pay to have your photos on display. To register a domain for your own page will cost as much -- and then you need to buy the space, etc. But as we have discussed before, there are numerous photo upload sites; we each need to find the one where we are comfortable, I guess.
